Shakib Al Hasan has announced his resignation from Test and T20 cricket. Shakib announced his retirement at an event before the Test match against India in Kanpur. While it was not announced at the time of the Kanpur Test that he would play for India, Shakib will shed his whites after the home Test in South Africa in October. Shakib played the last T20 of his career in the T20 World Cup.
